Day 1: Hanoi - Arrival
 Pick up from Noi Bai international airport to the hotel in Hanoi. After lunch is a half day city tour including the old quarter and the central lake. Enjoy a water puppet show at night. Rest of the day is free time for strolling around this charming city.( L)

 Day 2: Hanoi - Son La
 Depart from Hanoi for Son La, home of the Black and White Tai minority people. Stop for lunch at a local house with White Tai minority peoples in Mai Chau before proceeding further to Son La with ample stops en route for photography. (B,L)

 Day 3: Son La - Dien Bien Phu
 Breakfast at the hotel then visit Son La prison where the French routinely held Viet Minh revolutionaries, Son La museum. Head out to Dien Bien Phu, stop en route to visit colorful Thuan Chau market and view the attractive mountain villages of the H'Mong and White Tai ethnic minorities. Arrive in Dien Bien Phu late in the afternoon. (B,L)

 Day 4: Dien Bien Phu - Sightseeing 
 Tour the historical sites at Dien Bien Phu, including the Dien Bien Phu Exhibition Centre and the Revolutionary Heroes' Cemetery. Visit the most notorious battle sites of the military siege, such as Hill A1 (known as Elaine Two by the French), de Castries' Bunker, and the airport. The afternoon is free for rest and leisure.  Day 5: Dien Bien Phu - Ha Noi
 The morning is free time. Afternoon flight back to Hanoi. (B)
